Fortson is an unincorporated community in Harris County, north of Columbus, straddling the US-27 corridor. It's attracted a mix of larger rural properties and newer upscale subdivisions over the past 20 years as people move out of Columbus for land and quieter living. The area has grown significantly since the late 1990s.
